If you hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in children’s care and education, the CACHE Level 3 Award in Playwork for Early Years and Child Care Workers is a fast-track route to gain full Level 3 qualified status in Playwork. By building on your existing Level 3 Early Years knowledge, successful completion of this award will qualify you to work at a supervisory level in Breakfast & After-school clubs, Holiday Play-schemes and other informal play settings.
• Exclusively for practitioners holding a suitable Level 3 qualification in children's care and education and currently working, or wishing to work, in a playwork setting
• Focuses on the critical differences between the knowledge and skills that someone who already holds a Level 3 qualification in children's care and education should have, and the additional knowledge and skills required to be effective in a playwork setting
Unit 1 - The theory and practice of children’s and young people's play
This unit will enable the learner to explore the theory and practice of children's and young people's play and how to support this.
Unit 2 - Aspects of Playwork Practice
This unit will enable the learner to gain skills and knowledge of a range of playwork practice issues specific to working with children and young people.

Experience Necessary:

Must hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in children's care and education and you should have some continuing contact with children in a playwork setting.

Outcome:
|
Candidates will learn how to apply both playwork theory and practice. Achieving this Award will qualify you to take responsibility for planning and supervising a playwork setting and allow progression to higher qualifications, such as a Foundation Degree in Playwork or a B.A Honours in Playwork.
