For those holding a recognised Level 3 Playwork award, CACHE Level 3 Award in Early Years and Child Care for Playworkers is an efficient and practical route to gain Level 3 qualification in Early Years and Child Care. By building on existing knowledge, successful completion of this award will qualify the candidate to work at a supervisory level in an Early Years Setting. The Course:

• is for practitioners who hold a Level 3 qualification in Playwork and who are currently
 working, or wish to work, in settings whose main purpose is Early Years and Child Care
• focuses on the critical differences between the knowledge and skills expected of
  Level 3 trained Playworkers and the additional knowledge and skills required to be
  effective in a Children's Care, Learning and Development setting
• is linked to the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Children’s Care, Learning
  and Development (CCLD).

Core Unit 1 - Theory and practice in promoting children's care, learning and
                   development
Core Unit 2 - Aspects of children's care, learning and development practice

                   Total guided learning 60 hours

Audience:

Playworkers holding a recognised Level 3 qualification, who wish to extend their qualification for working in or supervising a Children's Care Learning and Development setting

60 hours Guided Distance-Learning over 12 Weeks - Access to a broadband internet connection is normally required

Tutor:

Anne Jones - Weekly study programme and supporting material supplied on-line, along with a textbook plus telephone or email tutorials

Experience Necessary:

Must hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in Playwork and you should have some continuing contact with children in an Early Years & Childcare setting.

Outcome:

Qualified to work in or supervise an Early Years setting, progression to Level 4 CPD, NVQ 4 EYCE or Early Years Foundation Degree
