CACHE L3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce

Course Description:

This QCF qualification is for all those who wish to work in the Children and Young People’s workforce in a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas including early years, social care and learning support. This programme follows the Early Learning and Childcare pathway, which qualifies successful candidates to hold the full Diploma and to work in Early Years settings with children up to 5 years. In addition to the study opportunities provided by 11 half-day workshops, 2 individual tutorials, and a comprehensive text-book, we also provide an on-line learning environment. This optional facility offers access to additional learning materials, on-line activities to complete for evidence and secure on-line submission of your written evidence for assessment. As well as written evidence, a number of visits by our Assessors to your workplace will complete the assessment process.

Learning Objectives:

Candidates will develop their Early Years skills and knowledge to the level required as a supervisor, as well as developing their own working practice. On successful completion, candidates will be qualified* to work with children of up to 5 years in Pre-schools, Nurseries, Children’s Centres, Day Nurseries, School Nursery and Reception Classes.

Possible progression:

- Social Care pathway (3 additional Units)
- Learning and Development Support Services pathway (3 additional Units)
- CACHE Level 3 Award in Transition to Playwork (from Early Years) (QCF)
- Early Years Foundation Degree.

Audience:

Anyone working up to supervisory level in Pre-schools, Nurseries, Children’s Centres, Day Nurseries, School Nursery and Reception Classes.

9:30am - 12:30pm - eleven monthly workshops plus tutorials and assessor visits from Tuesday 11th September 2012

Cost:

£1,225 – including CACHE registration, materials, textbook and booking deposit of £20. Ask us or your local authority about funding for this course.

Experience Necessary:

You must be over 16 and be able to study at Level 3. Candidates should have been working or volunteering in a pre-school or nursery setting for approximately 400 hours by the completion of the course.
* You must be over 17 to be counted in the statutory ratios of an Early Years setting

Outcome:

Candidates will develop their pre-school skills and knowledge to the level required as a supervisor, as well as developing their own working practice. On successful completion of assessment, candidates will gain the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce - comprising 65 QCF Credits.
