CACHE L2 Award in Playwork

The CACHE Level 2 Award in Playwork is the first step in understanding principles and theories of playwork. On completion of this course, you will be able to consider how adult intervention may or may not support children and young people from 4 to 16 years in play situations, how to listen to them and value their views and how to build good relationships with them.

You will also be ready to consider the main factors in planning and supporting children and young people at play, such as ‘loose parts’ and the balance between safety & risk and challenge during play. You will become aware of ‘reflective practice’ as a playworker.

Unit 1 Children’s Play and Playwork

Unit 2 Planning and supporting play

Continuing contact with children in a playwork setting is required (can
