The aim of this course is to provide candidates with the basic knowledge required to participate effectively in a pre-school setting. The course includes:
- an awareness of how pre-schools provide learning opportunities for children and parents
- a basic understanding of the management of pre-schools and basic legislation
- a basic understanding of how pre-schools support children’s learning and development through the activities and environment provided
- a basic understanding of the role of adults in pre-school

To gain a certificate, assessment is through a multiple choice question paper taken at the venue and externally assessed by CACHE
Achievement of the award allows you to work or be a volunteer in a pre-school setting under supervision.
